MeeGo Gets Demoed by Intel

"MeeGo is designed to be a mobile OS that can be used across a wide variety of devices. Cars, netbooks, smartphones, tablets and even TVs are supposed to be built around the totally open OS. Intel hopes that MeeGo will be the truly open alternative to Android. It's a lofty goal to say the least."
Hmmm...an open OS that seems to pick up a lot from the philosophy of the Windows Phone 7 UI. While this is certainly interesting I think the fact that Nokia (who was a partner with Intel on this) seems to be pulling the plug on Maemo in favor of Microsoft's offerings going forward would seem to suggest that there might not be room in the market for a second open OS.
