Logitech Speaker Lapdesk N550: Bigger Than A Breadbox, er, Netbook

"Look at this thing, now scope out Logitech's Speaker Lapdesk N700 and come back to tell us the difference between the two. Not that we'd ever dare question the sanity of having two Speaker Lapdesk SKUs, but you've got to admit Logitech hasn't really differentiated its new N550 -- a two-speaker, heat-shielded pad for treating your thighs with more kindness and less calefaction -- from its admittedly pricier predecessor."
Another in a long list of interesting laptop accessories, this lapdesk somewhat defeats the purpose of having a small, portable netbook. It's big. As a desk accessory, fine, it raises the typing angle of the netbook or laptop, provides reasonable speakers, and keeps the computer from sliding around. On the lap, it helps avoid a direct scalding, and provides a stable platform. But, really, does anyone buy a netbook with the expectation of it producing great sound? Portability, basic computing, and long battery life, please!
